NEW MEMBERS

INFORMATION FOR NEW MEMBERS - CLUB STRUCTURE

HSC is made up of two houses:

• Ruislip Northwood Swim Squad (RNSS) takes swimmers just starting to compete through to county level
• Hillingdon Borough Elite Swim Team (HBEST) provides training for swimmers who have been identified by coaches as capable of training and competing at a higher level.  This includes swimmers from other Hillingdon clubs, eg SeaByrds and Forward Hillingdon.

Each house has a number of squads catering for different abilities. Swimmers move between squads and houses depending on their individual development and needs.

Committee:

• Responsible for the overall management of the club      
• Made up of Chairman, Club Secretary, Treasurer (the executive) together with the Head of each House, Club Team Manager, Club Competition Secretary and Club Membership Secretary.

Swimming Coaches:

• Head coach: each house has their own Head Coach responsible for the coaching team and swimmers.
• Squad coaches: takes the majority of a squad’s sessions and is responsible for its development.

Head of House:

• Works closely with the Head Coach, dealing with the day-to-day management of the house.
• Liaises with squad reps and other volunteers on all club matters.

• Squad Representatives:
• Act as the link between the swimmer, squad coach, competition secretary and Head of House.
• Hold the contact details of swimmers in their squad.
• Responsible for distributing competition information, change of training schedule, social events etc.
• Collect in entry forms, entry fees etc and then pass these on to the relevant club personnel.
