HILLINGDON SWIMMING CLUB NEWS HILLINGDON TAKE 6TH PLACE IN NATIONAL DIDDY FINAL - SEE RESULTS PAGE & XMAS NEWSLETTER
RNSS CLUB CHAMPS - 14 NEW CLUB RECORDS SET Sunday 15th November: 170 RNSS swimmers, aged bewteen 6 and 18, turned out to compete in the annual Club Champs at Highgrove. The event was a great success with fourteen club records broken. The star of the day was Tegan Drew (aged 9) who broke three records in the Under 10 Girls Butterfly, Breaststroke and Backstroke and just missed a clean sweep of winswhen Rhiane Berchie pipped her in the Freestyle. Two new records were set each by Sophie Wilson, Dan Davis and Francesca Marr. Other record breakers were Leon Berchie, Tom Randall, Kate Wilson, Adam Wood and Luke Spain. TEACHING SECTION TRIUMPH - YOUNG ACHIEVER AWARDS Congratulations to Amy Claridge and her team who have all* been awarded Hillingdon Council Young Achiever Awards for their work in the Hillingdon SC Teaching Section. Amy along with Meghan Wilson, Sarah Nisbet, Michael Biedul, Russell Heath, Olivia Lawrence, Matthew Gandy, Michael Jones, Katie Smith and Tria Lawrence have been selected from other individualS and teams within Hillingdon and invited to the award ceremony next month at the Park Inn Hotel Hillingdon. We are very proud of this young team which not only provides an effective and popular weekly teaching program but also has a good track record of developing teachers and coaches. Well done to everyone! *Sadly Colin Hick and Mary Moloney, also key members of the teaching section team, were deemed just a little too old to be considered ‘Young Achievers’ by Hillingdon Council.

KARLEY MANN SWIMS 9TH FASTEST 200M BACK IN GB At the Duel in the Pool gala on 3rd October, Karley Mann, swimming for London Region, clocked 2.11.4 on the 200m backstroke - the 9th fastest in Great Britain. Hillingdon Swimming Club now have 2 swimmers in the top 10 GB Senior rankings - Francesca Marr & Karley Mann !
LONDON REGION ASA VOLUNTEER AWARDS (18.9.09) Following nominations by club members, Hillingdon SC has won 5 out of the 8 awards for which it was eligible. Awards won were: Athlete of the Year: Francesca Marr Coach of the Year: Dave Hemmings Teaching team of the Year: Lesley Westendorp & the RNSS Coaching team Long Service Award: Dave Austin Young Volunteer of the Year: Ellie South Dave Austin & Ellie now go forward to represent London Region in the National ASA awards on 10 th October. Good luck to them and well done to all our winners.
HSC 'A' TEAM WIN MK DIDDY LEAGUE (12.9.09) The Hillingdon Swimming 'A' Team took top honours at Round 3 of the Milton Keynes 'Diddy' League on Saturday, amassing points well ahead of Ealing and Amersham (who took second & third places). Our 'B' Team also took part in their Round 3 on Saturday, finishing joint third. Congratulations to all team members. See Results page for details.
